The Reishi Mushroom:

It’s a Cancer Fighter

The reishi mushroom has been proven to seriously boost the immune system and help fight cancer cells. Reishi will work to boost your immune system and target cancer cells.

While, in many circles, it has not been approved as a first-line approach to cancer therapy, reishi is often recommended as a complementary therapy alongside traditional first-line methods.

In addition, there is some evidence to suggest that reishi has cancer preventative properties, helping strengthen the case for taking this mushroom daily.

It Detoxifies Your Liver

The reishi mushroom is an excellent detoxifier and is proven to protect against liver damage. The antioxidants in reishi mushrooms work to help your liver maintain the rest of your body, therefore alleviating some of the strain put on your liver.

It Stabilizes Your Blood Sugar

While the reishi mushroom should by no means be used to replace insulin, it may be able to aid in stabilizing your blood sugar levels. Reishi mushrooms can also benefit people with hyper-or-hypoglycemia.

It is, however, important for people with pre-existing blood sugar conditions to closely monitor their blood sugar levels when eating reishi to make sure their levels do not drop too low.

It’s a Mood Lifter

The reishi mushroom may not fully cure your depression or anxiety…however, it is suggested that these medicinal mushrooms boost your immune system and adrenaline, which can help make you happier.

While there hasn’t been substantial research into the use of reishi to treat depression or anxiety, there is has been more research conducted which suggests that reishi mushrooms can help alleviate symptoms of people with neurasthenia its symptoms being lethargy, fatigue, headache and irritability.

It Protects Your Brain

The reishi mushroom is neuroprotective…meaning it can protect your brain. They promote and stimulate the growth of brain cells and generally improve cognitive function.

Reishi mushroom extract may be a good addition to your daily routine if you have a family history of Alzheimer’s or other neuro-degenerative conditions.

It Reduces Your Blood Pressure

Some small human studies have proven that the compounds in the reishi mushroom can help lower high blood pressure in people.

It is important to keep in mind that if you suffer from low blood pressure, you may want to steer clear of this particular fungi, lest you want to risk lowering your blood pressure even more.

It Regulates Your Sleep

When consumed on a daily basis, largely as a reishi tea or as reishi extract, the reishi mushroom can help you maintain a healthy sleep cycle. It should be noted that reishi mushrooms do not necessarily make your drowsy or help you to fall asleep, but rather help your body sleep restfully throughout the night.

There are so many ways you can benefit from different reishi mushroom products.

They can be cooked and added to some of your favorite recipes;  you can eat them dried or use them in an an extract.
